LACCoS envisions a sustainable and prosperous society where communities are empowered to take the lead in natural resource conservation, guided by the values of accountability, equity, community solidarity, and inclusion.
Mission
LACCoS contributes to a prosperous society by strengthening livelihood capacity and encouraging environmental stewardship through partnership, coordination, and multi-sectoral development initiatives.
Goal
LACCoS fosters biodiversity concern and natural resource-based development by creating livelihood diversification opportunities for communities, making them self-reliant through the sustainable management of natural resources. The organization also strengthens institutional development, minimizes threats, builds community resilience, and creates an enabling policy environment through a participatory approach
Objectives
LACCoS's main objective is to promote natural resource-based social-economic development by establishing synergy among community groups, local line agencies, and external support. The organization also has the following objectives:
- To raise and advocate issue-based concerns at the local level for biodiversity and wetland conservation and solid waste management in the Langtang region.
- To support building community resilience and disaster risk reduction through preparedness, research, infrastructure development, and institutional development.
- To explore and build the capacity of the local community through livelihood-supporting training and programs.
- To ensure the provision of basic education, health, and sanitation facilities in remote and geographically challenging regions.
- To identify and manage available resources for promoting local culture and ecotourism.
Values
In order to achieve its mission and to make its programs even more productive, LACCoS follows certain values and guiding principles in all its interventions and dealings.

Impact groups
LACCoS focuses on socio-economically disadvantaged and pro-poor groups of men, women, youth and children. Keeping in view the overall socio-cultural fabric of the society and the overall power imbalance and discrimination that exist at all levels; the focus, amongst these groups, is again on the most vulnerable and the marginalized ones.
