About Langtang Area Conservation Concern Society

Langtang Area Conservation Concern Society (LACCoS) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2007 by a group of local youth committed to environmental conservation and livelihood improvement in Rasuwa district, Nepal.

In the early years, LACCoS focused on awareness, advocacy, and capacity building to address conservation needs and promote sustainable growth and equity. Over time, the organization has gained the confidence to take the lead in executing livelihood support, governance, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, WASH, and educationbased programs and activities.

LACCoS designs and implements various developmental projects with financial and technical support from the government and international donor agencies. For its continued contribution to biodiversity conservation and community empowerment, LACCoS was conferred with the prestigious WWF Nepal’s Abhram Conservation 2012 award and
National Conservation Award 2018.

The organization is highly committed to nature conservation and aims to bring about progressive changes in the community.
